You’re number 1!

The year flew, and my baby grew! Who knew?.... okay I’m done ryming for now, but in all serious... I never believed parents who would say “they grow like weeds! They grow too fast! You blink and they’re off to college!”

Pshhh yeah whatever. 💁🏼

Well I’m here to tell you... it’s all true! My baby is 1 and I’m already a mess thinking about her leaving on her first date, getting a mission call, moving out, and thinking I’m totally not cool anymore. Because let’s be honest, she thinks I’m the most awesome person alive right now. And I am her favorite 😉 so with all these mommy feels, it only felt fitting to throw Harper a “Donut Grow Up” birthday party. Because I just want her to stay my little baby forever! We had a small family party which is exactly what I wanted. The weather kinda made me lose it for a second, and let’s be honest really all my hard work went into this party and nothing wanted to turn out as I had planned. But Harper loved it and that’s ALL that matters in my book.

The Nursery

Harper is what... 6 months now?
And finally..  I can say she has a nursery! It's been hard moving twice, unpacking, and getting everything just how I like it. But I can say I'm pretty happy with how her room had turned out.

The crib, rocking chair, and dresser are all repainted. And I reupholstered the cushion on the rocking chair, sewed the bedskirt and window curtain. See why it's taken so long? To many projects with a tiny babe.

Here is a before and after of the rocking chair.

I love how everything has turned out! Having a baby girl really is the best.

Harper's First Haircut

Her hair was driving me crazzzzzy.

And she was starting to look like an old man! I couldn't have my baby looking like an old man. So snip snip.

Momlife

Today was a good day. Scratch that. Today was a GREAT day! As I'm laying here in bed, next to Kyler as he's sleeping, I can't help but think today I did it. Today I was a good wife, today I was a good mom.

The last couple weeks I don't think I would even begin to say that, even the last couple of days. I've been slacking I know I have. Sometimes life gets hard and mom life is even harder. I pray, more like plead to have more patience. Add that to moving twice in two months, trying to get back on a somewhat normal baby schedule, all while keeping up the whole "super mom" title. I will be the first to tell you that I've been stressed, short tempered, overwhelmed, and most nights go to bed completely drained.

But guys, today I did it.

It all started out with Harper sleeping in till 8:00. She woke up SO happy I couldn't help but be happy too. Her smile is contagious and that smile is what keeps me going most days. I planned dinner meals for the next week, offered to feed the missionaries, wrote down my grocery list and carefully budgeted what we could afford. I did the laundry, washed the dishes. I organized Harper's clothes (something I've been wanting to do for weeks) I got more Christmas shopping done, grocery shopping done. I made dinner from scratch!!! And learned a new recipe, but the best part is... Kyler LOVED it! I played with my sweet baby and made her giggle and laugh and then put her to bed without a single problem.

Today I did it. Today I was a better wife and mom and I can't help but thank my Heavenly Father for helping me, blessing me, and allowing me to be a mother and wife.

Harper's First Halloween

Dad picked out our costumes this year. His favorite team, his favorite girls, and by far our favorite Halloween ever.

Harper's blessing day

Harper Kate,

Today daddy gave you the most incredible blessing. Him and I love you very very much. I hope you always know that.

Love always,

Your mom.

1 Month

I wish I had more time to blog! But let's be honest... Having a newborn doesn't really leave time for anything. :)

Harper is one month old! And it has this momma crying big crocodile tears. Having Harper in our lives has been the absolute best over and I can't ever imagine how we survived without here. Now enough talk let me show you cute pics of my sweet babe:)

(One of her very first smiles caught on camera:)
