Nash Jameson birth story

He's here! Our perfect little BOY is here! My doctor, Annie Overson (who is a litteral angel on earth!), said she would induce me anytime once I hit 39 weeks. Kyler started his seminary classes on Monday August 18th, so in our minds we decided on August 20th which would give him 2 days to meet all his students before taking paternity leave. Wednesday morning August 20th came and I didn't sleep much that night. Our time scheduled for the hosptial was for 6am. I had set an alarm for 5am, and Jodi was on her way to be with the girls. I started getting last minute things together when at 5:15 the hospital called me to let me know that 2 ladies had arrived in active labor and they also had a scheduled c-section at 8am, so I would have to wait and be on call. I looked to see where Jodi was and had Kyler call her, she was already in Wellsville and just decided to come to our home anyway. I then tried to get a little more sleep while the waiting game began. It all was meant to be though as the girls were nervous I wasn't going to be home in the morning when they woke up. SURPRISE! I was! And they were very excited! And another bonus is we got one final family picture, just the 4 of us! The next couple hours I tried to stay busy and finally the phone call came! I was told to come in at 11am!
It was a beautiful day for a baby! We made it to the hospital, got all checked in, and into our room. My incredible midwife/doctor Annie came and discussed our plan. I was already dialted to a 3 which is farther than I ever was with my girls. We decided to start on the pitocin, get my epidural when I progressed but not when I was in massive pain, and THEN break my water. This was also different than with my girls as breaking my water brought such intense contractions and I would get the epidural after that. So I was all for change!
The day went on, and I basically was not progressing. My parents came and spent the afternoon with us, and Jodi was able to bring the girls for a bit. That helped pass the time. At 4:30 I was finally at a 4... Like I said... it was a slow afternoon! At around 6:30 I was at a 5, but we decided to go ahead with the epidural. I was feeling small contractions but nothing I couldnt tollerate. The anesthesiologist was so kind and funny! The epidural hurt, but I had Kyler there thank goodness. Shortly after that, Annie came in a broke my water! I then thought okay NOW this ball will start rolling. But nope! I sat at that dang 5 for almost two and a half hours! At this point I was getting discouraged. Emma had come to take our pictures and was patiently waiting at our house with the girls and I hated putting her out. People kept texting + facetiming and I had to keep saying NO BABY! My sister Heather had facetimed my mom and I remember telling her "I dont think I am having this baby today" I was getting frustrated, and I know its not something I could control, but I hate being a burden to people and this felt like I was letting so many people down. I hung up with my sister just before 8pm, and my nurse came in to check me then a miracle happened! I was at a 7! 10 minutes later an 8! I was progressing and I was progressing fast! They called Annie and said get here ASAP! We also let Emma know so she could head over. Progressing so fast was great, but it also came along with massive contractions and pain! I kept pushing my epidural button to get more boosts but I guess with how fast this was all happening, the epidural just couldnt keep up! The pressure and pain I was feeling is hard to explain, other than it felt like a bowling ball sitting right on my pelvis and I didnt know if I could keep it in. I began to stress that Annie and Emma were not going to make it! I remember thinking to myself that I had to keep this baby in until they got there.
Finally Annie arrived, and right behind her was Emma! She barely had time to get her camera out and ready before it was go time. Annie got her gown and gloves on and 5 minutes later at 9:04pm... Baby boy arrived!
19 inches, 6 pounds 6 oz of pure perfection.
Nash Jameson Webb
This birth truly healed me. Everything was perfect. I loved the staff, my Doctor and the entire experience. The morning after Nash was born Kyler ran to get us breakfast. A storm rolled in and there was thunder and rain on the windows. I laid there in the hospital bed, holding my brand new baby thinking I dont know how life gets better than this. It was the most perfect morning.
It was so wonderful having my parents there in the room with us a well for the birth. My mom recorded the whole thing and I'll treasure that video forever!
Jodi was so wonderful and watched the girls for us both nights we were at the hospital. It was great to have them only 5 minutes away. They came to visit as we waited and waited. Then came back right after we had him, plus the next day too. These girls were born to be big sisters! Harpers favorite part was touching and holding the placenta, just like Annie promised. At one point the placenta slipped out of her hands and back into the bedpan, splashing blood everywhere. Some splashed onto Harper "Big Sis" shirt and I dont think I've ever seen a bigger smile on her face. This girl just might be a doctor someday.
